Testimonials

Pat and all the Phoenix Professionals:

As we wind down from this “ordeal” I wanted to say thank you for the outstanding work that everyone did after my house fire. It is bad enough to have an incident like this, but to have it happened with my travel schedule was almost overwhelming. The fact that I had to leave for the west coast for two weeks the day it happened just about put me over the edge. The smartest decision I made (or rather my wife Lillian made for me) was to realize that the job was way out of my skills and abilities. The call to you folks, while going against my desire to “do the job myself” was the best decision I made on the house since I built it (I’ll now take credit for it away from Lillian since it worked out so well!).

I know that you and all your staff faced a lot of “issues” with the building inspectors, the banks, the insurance company, but through all of it, the one stabilizing factor in my life was Phoenix… for that I will always be grateful. This holiday season we all have a lot to be thankful for. For Lillian and I, it was that you were there when we needed help. Please pass my appreciation on to everyone in your organization. If you ever need a recommendation for the company and your work please do not hesitate to call or email. I would consider it a privilege to explain to others what you did for us.

We really appreciated the job that Phoenix did to restore our cottage after the fire. Your suggestions were helpful and showed a real understanding of our taste and needs. You made a difficult situation much easier and less stressful.

Many thanks,

Leigh and George

Our home had a fireplace incident that expelled smoke throughout the house. This was an issue where the smoke and residue from this incident was such that we were not sure of what to do. A good friend (Gene Berry of Outer Barrier) recommended that we have Phoenix Restoration take a look and give us an opinion on how to deal with this. Your firm was professional, through and responsive. Since this event, the nature of it, was such that our insurance policy on the home covered some of the damage Rick, Stacy and Pat worked with us and the insurance company to explain the nature of the problem so that we could use our policy to help with the cost.

You were very patient with the insurance company and had to work with them a few times to explain the nature of the issue. Once that was complete you did the work that you had promised, at the price quoted and in the time frame quoted. The smoke damage was removed and the smell eliminated. We are thankful that you did such a good job and would recommend you to others.

My husband and I own a home in South Nags Head. Unfortunately last year our ice maker on the "3rd floor" sprung a leak which managed to damage the 3rd floor as well as the 2nd and ground floor. With all of our misfortune, we had the good fortune to become acquainted with Phoenix Restoration. They really came to our aid immediately. They totally took over providing us with exceptional professional service. They saw to everything and did it in a timely fashion. We were very satisfied and would recommend them again and again.

This letter of reference is a reflection on the restoration project Phoenix did for us. We suffered a kitchen fire that did extensive fire damage in our kitchen and smoke damage throughout our home in Buxton, NC. Our home in Buxton is our vacation home; we work and live in Ohio for most of the year. As a result, selection of a restoration company was particularly important to us. We would not be present to supervise the work. Basically, we put ourselves totally in your hands. Your office and field staff were always helpful, always timely, always competent, always efficient, and always thorough. As I reflect back on that time period, not all of it was good. Thanks to Phoenix Restoration, our fire is just a distant and distasteful memory. We don't have to keep reliving it because there is absolutely no evidence in our home that it occurred. The restoration was flawless. If you ever need a reference for a potential client, send them my way.

Last November, our beautiful Outer Banks home suffered extensive water damage from a faulty refrigerator water filter cartridge. Luckily, our rental agent contacted Phoenix Restoration for help. Pat Broom and her crew were at the house within hours of the call!

Although it took several months to complete the restoration work, Phoenix worked diligently and kept us informed of every step of the process. From removing the water-soaked walls, ceilings, flooring, insulation, and wiring, to moving and storing any undamaged furnishings, the Phoenix crew was professional and competent. As out-of-state property owners, Pat was of invaluable help to us throughout the process. When it came time to choose new carpet for the house, she was able to steer us toward the right color based on samples, photos and telephone conversations. This saved us from having to make expensive trips to the Outer Banks from Michigan.

We are so thankful that Phoenix Restoration was able to return our home to its original condition, and we truly appreciate the attention to detail provided by Pat Broom, Stacey, and the entire crew. When disaster calls, call Phoenix!

We sincerely thank Phoenix Restoration for all of the help they have given us over the past several months at our home in Duck. The timing of our water problem was far from ordeal – just weeks before our daughter’s wedding. Phoenix Restoration went above and beyond for us – always answering our many questions, giving us much needed advice, and handling countless details around the clock – 24/7!

We are especially grateful that the house was in excellent shape for our daughter’s wedding weekend. We know that would not have been possible without the valued assistance and persistence of Phoenix Restoration. They are true professionals. We can’t thank them enough!

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the outstanding service you provided my wife & I in restoring our condo to "like new" condition after the recent mishap involving a broken internal wall water pipe & the resultant flooding damage to our unit.

We didn't learn of the problem until sometime after 6:00 p.m. on Friday,  the 1st of August. Subsequently, our plumber contacted you and, even though it was after normal work hours, you immediately initiated a water extraction process, the first of the numerous actions that followed that weekend. Wallboards had to be ripped off, a toilet removed, a bathroom vent fan removed, flooring inspected, etc. As soon as the insurance adjustors were able to inspect the damage & the damaged areas were dried out, your restoration team immediately resumed their work.

Throughout the restoration process I was most impressed with your deployment of the various tradesmen, e.g. plumbers, electricians, painters, etc. They were always most timely; moreover, it was readily apparent that they were true professionals.

When the renter we lost for the second week into the situation expressed a desire to come mid-week, your company "bent over backwards" to complete the job in ahead of what had been the projected completion schedule. At several times I was worried that, because several tradesmen were at the unit at the same time, they would be tripping over themselves. But that was not the case- one even told me that they all take pride in being able to work simultaneously when necessary.

Again, thank you Phoenix Restoration for a job well done! And special kudos to Pat & Stacey, who were always so courteous & responsive to my numerous telephone calls.

When I was first elected Mayor of the City of Stamford in November of 1995, I had the pleasure of appointing Pat as Director of Operations for the City of Stamford. She served in that capacity from January, 1996 until January, 2000. During her four-year tenure, Pat was responsible for all municipal functions related to Public Works, Traffic, Parking, Planning, Zoning, Parks, Recreation, Environmen tal Protection, and construct ion of all public schools and City facilities. Stamford is a community of approximately 120,000 residents, with a daytime population of 170,000.

Pat was extremely valuable to the City at that time, as she completely restructured the operations organization, resulting in significan t cost savings, w hile at the same time expanding City services. She negotiated changes to labor contracts for four bargaining units, revised the management structure, redesigned program offerings, and implemented a program of preventative maintenance and infrastructure life cycle management. In addition, Pat realigned service offerings to correspond with citizens' priorities, channeling City resources to areas where resident interest was highest. She directed the construction and renovation of four public schools, bringing all projects in on time and within budget. She strived to ensure fairness and maintained high ethical standards in managing the competing priorities of the public, the contractors, and the City agencies whose projects she managed.

As a member of my Cabinet, Pat was an exemplary leader who was respected by her employees and held in the highest regard by the Stamford community. She was frank, honest, sound in her judgments and knowledgeable. She displayed exceptional abilities, talents and skills, w hich greatly contributed to the progress, prosperi ty and growth of our City. It was a pleasure to work with Pat. Pat will give nothing less than her full and steadfast commitment to excellence.

Dannel P. Malloy Governor of Connecticut

I had the pleasure of working with Pat Broom from 1997-2000 in her capacity as Director of Operations for the City of Stamford, Connecticut ("City"). Turner Construction Company ("Turner") was selected by the City as the Construction Manager for the renovation and expansion of two public schools. At the time my position was as Vice President & General Manager of Turner 's Connecticut office. I was responsible all aspects of Turner's $300 million operation in that region. My role on the project was to insure that we provided all of the resources and services necessary to insure success in meeting the needs of Pat and the City of Stamford. Pat was our primary management contact on the project, and had overall responsibility for the budget, schedule, design and construction of the schools.

These were challenging projects, in that the City had never before employed a Construction Manager, the two schools shared a single budget which was insufficient in terms of the educational and physical requirements associated with the two facilities, and one of the schools remained occupied throughout the project. Pat played a major role in working with us to shepherd the projects through the contract approval process, which required gaining the confidence of the community, the fiscal authorities, and the regulatory agencies providing oversight. She played an active role in working with the school administrations , the City officials, the design team, and construction team to ensure that the end user needs were met, and the project stayed on time and within budget.

Pat was equitable in managing the conflicting concerns of the members of the project team, and was always mindful that she was overseeing the expenditure of public funds, and thereby responsible to ensure that she protected the public interest. She had the confidence of the design and construction teams, as well as the project owners and the public, because she consistently exercised sound business and management judgment , reasonability in her expectations, and fairness and honesty in dealing with all parties.

From a personal standpoint, I found Pat to be an individual with the highest ethical standards and a person committed to teamwork with respect to every challenging situation that we encountered. She was an excellent leader, a tremendous communicator, and a person that had a knack for gaining consensus among a group. In addition, to all of the professional accolades that I could use to describe Pat, she is also a wonderful human being that allowed the team to enjoy themselves (i.e. have fun) while we worked hard to accompl ish the task at hand.

It is my pleasure to provide this letter of reference for Patricia Broom who was employed with Fitlinxx Inc. as General Manager of Operations. Patricia's contribution to the operations department was exceptional and unprecedented - the majority of policies she implemented are still being used today.

As GM-Ops, her primary role was to improving on general practices within Operations, which was not a simple task. With her extensive background and experience, she immediately came on board and implemented practical processes to improve how our product and parts were ordered, shipped, serviced and installed by our team of field contractors.

Her performance during this period of time was remarkable. She worked well under pressure especially when our customers encountered problems with building permits or identifying reliable electrical and/or network contractors. Patricia is an innovative self-starter who knew exactly what needed to be done and, if the appropriate resources were not available, took the initiative to get it done herself.

Patricia operates with the highest standard for professionalism and integrity. I would recommend her to anybody looking for an outstanding, reputable and honest business partner.
