Pat Broom, President
Pat came to the Outer Banks in 2005 from Stamford, Connecticut where she served as Director of Operations for the City, overseeing all construction and maintenance activities of the City. She managed a staff of over 500 people, with an operating budget of $50 million and capital expenditures (construction) of $150 million. She moved to the Outer Banks for the quality of life. Her daughter and daughter-in-law are graduates of UNC Chapel Hill, and her son is a graduate of NC State – a true house divided! Pat has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics. She has a Masters in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics, and is fairly proficient in French and Spanish. She holds our NC General Contractor’s license, an inactive NC Realtors license, and restoration certifications from the IICRC. She has served on the Kill Devil Hills Historic Landmarks Commission, the Kill Devil Hills Zoning Board of Appeals, and is currently a member of the charter group of Leadership OBX – a Chamber of Commerce initiative to inspire present and future leadership for and commitment to our Outer Banks Community.
Rick Schneck, Project Manager
Rick founded and was President of Phoenix Restoration for over ten years. He built a professional, competent organization with the most extensive expertise and experience in all types of insurance restoration on the beach. He sold the company to Pat in 2005 to pursue other opportunities, but we were fortunate enough to lure him back in late 2006 to help out with the many claims from Tropical Storm Ernesto. We have managed to stretch that one storm into a long term position as this key member of our team. In addition to his unwavering commitment to high quality workmanship and successful relationships with our clients and all stakeholders, Rick has a tremendous sense of humor and makes coming to work everyday a pleasure for the rest of the team. Rick comes to us from Annapolis, MD. He has over 20 years of experience in construction, with over 15 years in insurance damage restoration. He holds multiple certifications from the IICRC.
